The Team on the Farm​

MCNE employs a dedicated team of passionate people with over 50 years of combined on-farm experience, including a full time agronomist, the expertise of an organic chemist and a sales and marketing team, all ready to assist our customers.

Throughout the year, many different skills are required to ensure that our trees are grown to their full potential. Our team uses practical management systems, integrated pest handling strategies, eco-friendly weed control techniques and intelligent engineering throughout the distillery and storage facility. Our team members are highly experienced in the cultivation, distillation and storage of Tea Tree Oil and all are committed to the MCNE values of a sustainable approach to farming and business.

Yannick Castella - Commercial Manager

Yannick undertook studies in International Business (SCU) and Languages (UNE). He completed an internship as a financial planner with a leading global company. Joining the Main Camp Group in 2003 under the guidance of pioneers in the Australian Essential Oils industry, he gained valuable knowledge and skills. Yannick leads the Sales & Marketing team and oversees key functions of the Quality Assurance system.

Phillip Butlin – Managing Director

Phillip has been Main Camp’s managing director since he and two other Australian founding shareholders acquired the Main Camp farm in 2010. Phillip has overseen a period of investment and growth for Main Camp. During this time Phillip has been an elected member of the Australian Tea Tree Industry Association “ATTIA”) board of directors and has served as its president since late 2017. Until June 2009 Phillip was an executive of the agri-business group, Great Southern Limited having joined Great Southern in January 2004, appointed to the board of the listed company in December 2006 and being promoted to Deputy CEO in March 2008.

John Seccombe - Director of Farming Operations

John has been involved in the Tea Tree industry since 1995. Over this period he has accumulated an extensive machinery & manpower base and gained valuable practical & research experience in the maintenance, processing and maximization of essential oil plantation yields and profitability using industry best practice.John is the 5th generation in his family to farm in Australia with his youth and roots in grazing and cropping on the Far North Coast of New South Wales. John was educated in Lismore then attended the University of Newcastle where he was awarded a Diploma of Education. After further studies at the Southern Cross University in Lismore John was awarded a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Accounting.
